Brock Lesnar shocked Roman Reigns and the WWE Universe when he returned during the closing moments of SmackDown this week. There was a lot to this appearance, but that doesn’t mean they will be wrestling at Money in the Bank.

Sean Sapp reported behind Fightful’s paywall that Brock Lesnar is set to face Roman Reigns in the SummerSlam main event. Orton’s surgery means that the Beast Incarnate got that spot.

Word started going around at about 5:00 PM EST backstage that Lesnar’s appearance was likely. Obviously, there was a lot going on backstage in the company today.

Word started to emerge this afternoon shortly before 5 PM EST backstage that Lesnar could be returning. Still, he was not featured on internal rundowns that were handed out just before the show.

It was also reported that these plans were put in place about three weeks ago. So, Lesnar’s return was not a reactionary booking decision because Vince McMahon got busted in a sex scandal.
