AEW found themselves in a tough situation when Jeff Hardy was arrested for DUI. He was set for a big ladder match at Road Rager, but those plans changed.

Tony Khan announced that Hardy is now suspended and that means he can’t be in the match. To make up for it, AEW took the Hardys out of the match completely and now the Young Bucks and Jurassic Express will battle alone in a ladder match.

Will Ospreay made his AEW debut on June 8 along with Aussie Open members Aaron Henare, Kyle Fletcher, and Mark Davis. The group competed in a six-man tag against FTR and Trent Berretta on AEW Rampage and ultimately came up short. Ospreay is one of the names AEW fans have hoped would walk through the forbidden door, and now he’s mixing it up with AEW talent. Ospreay seemingly has his next match set as he’s about to go one-on-one with a member of FTR.

AEW President Tony Khan confirmed today that Ospreay will have his first AEW single’s match against FTR’s Dax Hardwood. Ospreay just won the vacant IWGP US Heavyweight title this past weekend at NJPW Dominion, so he’s looking to forge ahead and gain some momentum heading into Forbidden Door.
