Kairi Sane was certainly one of the mainstays of the NXT Women’s division as she did not waste time in becoming a star there. Sane had a memorable run in NXT as she went on to win the NXT Women’s Championship. She also opened up about her WWE exit.

Kairi Sane left WWE long ago and eventually made her way to Japan. Many believed her contract with WWE expired and turned out to be the case, as her contract expired earlier this year.

While speaking with Entame Next, Kairi Sane talked about her WWE departure. Sane stated that she felt she accomplished everything she could have in WWE.

When I left Japan in 2017, I promised my fans that I would go on a long journey, but that I would come back grown up,” Kairi Sane said. “I told that to President Rossy Ogawa (now Executive Producer). In the first place, my goal was to learn first-class professional wrestling, and I didn’t really intend to live permanently in the US. [When the Pandemic hit] I thought, ‘Where am I going to go from here?’ I had a sense of accomplishment that I had fulfilled my promise to my best friend and that I had done everything I could in my three years with WWE, and after several consultations with WWE, I decided to leave.”

Kairi Sane was discussed for a return during this year’s Women’s Royal Rumble match, but that did not end up happening in the end. It remains to be seen whether Sane will ever make her way back to WWE or not.
