Kairi Sane was the Pirate Princess in WWE, but she left the company’s weekly television programs and moved back to Japan. She also earned her degree while in Japan. Sane was working with WWE’s Japanese office, but that time is about to end.

It was previously reported that Sane’s deal expired, but that is not the case just yet. She is still under WWE contract, but she has given the impression that she is not going to renew her contract.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Kairi Sane’s WWE contract is set to expire next month. At that time she will be free to choose her next destination in the pro wrestling world.

Kairi Sane publicly gave the impression she was not going to renew her WWE deal. She had stopped wrestling for WWE because she wanted to move back to Japan. She remained under contract with the promotion to work as an ambassador in the Japanese market, which also kept her from wrestling. If you recall earlier this year Stardom attempted to work with WWE to get her to work the Budokan Hall show but WWE wouldn’t allow it. Her deal expires next month. She could if she wanted to wrestle in Japan and if the travel situation improves she could work for AEW where she’d be a great fit coming in for specific shows and times while still living in Japan

Kairi Sane could have a nice career in Japan, but she could also travel back to the United States and be a big help for AEW’s women’s division. Only time will tell what she decides to do, but a return to WWE television doesn’t seem to be in the cards.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
