Kairi Sane has not wrestled for WWE in year and a half. The popular Japanese superstar had her last match all the way back in 2020. Kairi’s wasn’t a name that has been mentioned much in the annual swirl of speculation about surprise Royal Rumble entrants. Despite her contract running out, the Pirate Princess could return.

WWE has been thinking outside of the box when it comes to filling all thirty spots in this year’s women’s Royal Rumble. A series of roster cuts has left the main roster thin in the women’s division. NXT call ups are expected for the Rumble. WWE even brought in current Impact Knockouts Champion Mickie James to compete.

Sean Sapp of Fightful Select has reported that Kairi Sane’s name has been coming up a lot lately inside WWE. The company is considering using Sane for the Royal Rumble. Nothing is confirmed, but there is strong interest in Kairi returning for the match.

“Kairi Sane hasn’t competed for WWE in a year and a half, but we’ve heard that her name has been pitched as a possible Royal Rumble entry for this weekend. Sane left the United States in the Summer of 2020 and returned to Japan, where she’s remained with WWE in an official capacity as an ambassador. She’s also done commentary work for WWE in Japan.”

The WWE Universe would love to see the return of Kairi Sane at the Royal Rumble. Other returning WWE superstars include The Bella Twins and Lita. There are sure to be more surprises we don’t know about until the day of the event.

Kairi Sane has been used sporadically in non-wrestling roles since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Royal Rumble would be the perfect time to reintroduce her to the fans. We’ll see if WWE can make it happen.
