Fit Finlay was one of the many unfortunate WWE employees to be furloughed in early 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Finlay later returned in November of that year to work as a producer for NXT. He has not been listed as a main roster producer since rejoining the colorful developmental brand.

Finlay made his return to the main roster as a producer during June 3rds WWE SmackDown taping. There was a dark match between NXT stars Wes Lee and Sanga. Fit Finlay produced that match, according to a report behind Fightful Select’s paywall.

Finlay has been working as a producer for WWE since 2012. His knowledge and experience has been valuable for NXT’s young crop of stars. Finlay has worked for promotions around the world and has a vast knowledge of the business.

Many WWE stars have credited Finlay with kickstarting their careers in the past. Trish Stratus said she owes her career to Fit. Beth Phoenix feels exactly the same. Finlay is often lauded for changing how WWE treats their female performers.

Freddie Prinze Jr. recently said he hopes to see Finlay included in an upcoming documentary on The Bella Twins. There is no shortage of folks who are willing to talk about how great Finlay has been for the company. WWE may be trying him out for a position as a main roster producer, and it would be well-deserved.

We will see if Fit Finlay shows up on the producer lists for future WWE main roster shows. He has been sticking with the NXT brand thus far, despite traveling to produce the SmackDown dark match. Wherever he ends up, Finlay will surely be a valuable piece of the WWE team.
