Cody Rhodes duked it out against Seth Rollins in the main event of Hell In A Cell. Prior to the match, Rhodes was more than aware of how significant it was going to be. WWE was “surprised” that news of The American Nightmare’s injury got out, but now he’s been called out for faking his injury at the event.
Despite suffering from a legit torn pectoral muscle, Rhodes soldiered on and ended up having a terrific back and forth encounter with The Messiah. In fact, Rhodes won the match as well.
While speaking to SE Scoops’ Steve Fall, former WWE Superstar Cameron was asked whether she thought the injury was legitimate or not. Then she called out Rhodes for faking the injury. The fact that Cody wrestled while injured raised a red flag for her.
“Dealing with wrestling, there’s always gonna be major injuries. Everyone always says it’s fake, ‘Oh my God, wrestling’s not real.’ But it is very real. Him showing up [injured], I don’t know, I started to learn with WWE and wrestling, what is real and what is fake? What’s to get people intrigued? Because, at the end of the day, this is still entertainment.”
Cody Rhode is expected to miss around 6 months’ worth of in-ring time. Even Brandi Rhodes never imagined he’d be able to finish the match. We’ll have to see what WWE will have planned for him once he is back. Keep checking back with Ringside News for more updates.
