Cody Rhodes is slated to face Seth Rollins at Hell in a Cell in the only Hell in a Cell match on the card. An injury might have derailed that plan.

It was previously reported that Cody Rhodes was pulled from a live event. The status of his injury was not known, but now we know that he might have suffered something serious.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer stated that Cody inured himself lifting weights and also indicated that he will still be involved in the Hell in a Cell match against Seth Rollins tonight.

“Cody was injured lifting weights. From what I gather, it’s a pretty serious injury. My impression is that he is working the match tonight with the injury and I guess will get it taken care of later. The injury is legit. Everything that I heard was that he was working tonight. The doctors may say you can’t, I don’t know. It’s not an in-ring injury, it was a weightlifting injury.”

WWE has not pulled the American Nightmare from his match at Hell in a Cell and he did indicate on Twitter that he is in Chicago for the event. Hopefully, it doesn’t come to that, but this will be a doctors call.
