AEW and NJPW are holding Forbidden Door in Chicago on June 26th. We will have full coverage of the event here on Ringside News, but things are already getting off to a rocky start in terms of reporting.

After Dave Meltzer reported that Hangman vs Okada was on a list for the event, they retracted that report. The Wrestling Observer Twitter account sent out a blast to fans letting them know that this report was not correct and the card is being kept a secret.

Per @davemeltzerWON, his WOR note last night that Hangman Page vs. Okada was tabbed for Forbidden Door based on a lineup he had seen was incorrect. That match is not planned for the PPV as the lineup is being kept a secret.

It appears that, at best, some wires were crossed here. Either way, we’re sure that Tony Khan and the higher-ups at NJPW are coming up with a big card for Forbidden Door.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
