Stephanie McMahon surprised a lot of people when she said she would be taking some time away from WWE. Many within the company didn’t even see it coming. Fans have been wondering exactly how long that hiatus will be.

WWE is eventually going to bring in a new brand management executive to fill in while Stephanie is gone. That would be a full-time position with a new hire selected by Nick Khan. One would assume that if they are hiring a new person for the job, Stephanie McMahon’s leave would be for quite a while.

In a recent PW Insider Q&A, Mike Johnson discussed the plan now that Stephanie McMahon is taking a break. Johnson noted that Khan plans to bring in someone to oversee brand marketing. It does not look like Steph will be returning any time soon.

“In the short term, it is believed Nick Khan will be overseeing Stephanie McMahon’s former team.  I would expect WWE, if they aren’t already, to begin looking for someone to oversee the Brand Marketing for the company.  No one I’ve spoken to believes McMahon will be returning anytime soon, so the company will need to have someone full-time.”

It is unclear if anything will change in Stephanie McMahon’s absence. WWE has a very specific way of operating, so the transition should be a smooth one. Fans might not notice anything different at all.

WWE has not made any official announcement on the length of Stephanie McMahon’s time off. Stephanie indicated that the break was for family reasons, so the company will likely let her take as long as she needs.
