Over the years Stephanie McMahon has played a role of being WWE’s Chief Brand Officer. Her efforts helped the company make significant brand deals and contributions to youth initiatives. McMahon now seems to be taking a long deserved break as Chief Brand Officer.

Earlier today, Stephanie McMahon announced she’s taking an leave of absence from the company. Wrestling fans were shocked at the Chief Brand Officer’s decision to walk a mere month after WWE’s biggest show of the year, WrestleMania. According to PW Insider, it appears no one within WWE had any idea this announcement was coming.

Many have reached out with for comment but there has been no such response just yet. Stephanie has made only sporadic appearances on WWE television and kept to the helping the company with its business initiatives. According to her Twitter post, she’s taking a break to focus on her family.

It’ll be interesting to see when we’ll see Stephanie not just return to the company as Chief Brand Officer but also as an onscreen persona. We’ll have to wait and see if WWE responds to the news.
