Wardlow made his AEW debut back in 2019 and since then things have only looked up for the pro wrestler. Wardlow got over with fans the old fashioned way and it clearly shows. Wardlow himself admitted his rise in AEW exceeded his expectations.

Wardlow’s run as a babyface has become one of the highlights of AEW television for the past couple of months. The slow burn feud between Wardlow and MJF had been building up many months before their breakup as well.

While speaking to the Superstar Crossover program, Wardlow talked about his rise in popularity in AEW so far. Wardlow admitted that it exceeded even his expectations.

“I think even this is exceeding my expectations. I couldn’t have wrote myself a better future than what I’m currently living. Or I guess I should say I couldn’t have wrote a better reality for what I’m currently living. I wouldn’t change a single thing that has happened or a single thing that is happening right now.”

Tony Khan recently stated that Wardlow’s push has been coming for years. Wardlow and MJF are set to have a contract signing on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite. It remains to be seen how their feud will be booked as we approach AEW Double Or Nothing on May 29th.
