Tony Khan Says Wardlow’s Push Has Been Coming For Years

Wardlow made his AEW debut back in 2019 and since then has been booked as an unstoppable force in the company. Wardlow gained a fan following thanks to his organic booking and charisma. Tony Khan also commented on Wardlow’s push and rise in popularity.

Wardlow’s run as a babyface has been booked exceptionally well according to fans. Wardlow has been feeding with MJF since AEW Revolution back in March and fans can’t get enough of it.

While speaking on Busted Open Radio, AEW President Tony Khan talked about Wardlow’s booking in AEW. Khan stated that his push has been coming for years.

“It was an awesome showing for Wardlow. He’s such a bright star. Obviously, right now, he’s being held down by MJF. Being held back by MJF, and it’s only making the fans love him more. The people seem to get behind Wardlow a little bit more every week, and I think it’s just awesome. It’s been a long time coming, really for years, the fans supported Wardlow and wanted to see Wardlow stand up to MJF, and now they’re seeing it, and people are really, really responding to it.”

Wardlow and MJF are set to have a contract signing on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite. We will have to wait and see how their feud will be booked as we near AEW Double Or Nothing on May 29th.
