AEW has come a long way since its start back in 2019. The company has developed in various ways and still has a lot of aspects it can improve. The upcoming AEW NJPW event has already earned a lot on revenue.

NJPW and AEW started a working relationship last year, which certainly made fans happy. Their relationship improved to the point that they will be working together for the AEW NJPW crossover show called ‘Forbidden Door.’

While speaking with News 12, AEW President Tony Khan talked about the upcoming Forbidden Door Event. He revealed that the event ended up selling over $1 million in ticket sales.

“[Grand Slam] was almost the first million-dollar gate in AEW history, just came shy of that, but it was real close and of course, we set that record now, for AEW Double or Nothing Las Vegas, became our first million-dollar gate for live tickets, and now just hit it again for our partnership with New Japan, for our Forbidden Door show at the United Center.”
