Cody Rhodes was the star of WWE’s latest promotional video for the upcoming Money in the Bank premium live event. The company is swinging for the fences with this year’s MITB, as the event will go down inside the massive Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. In the video, Cody teased a very interesting angle on where the winners could wind up.

Typically, the winners of the Money in the Bank matches get a title shot at a place and time of their choosing. That means it could happen anywhere. In the ad for Money in the Bank, Cody stressed the fact that those cash-ins could be in the main event at WrestleMania.

“One lucky male and female superstar will win the chance to main event WrestleMania.”

That was always the case. Seth Rollins cashed in his MITB contract to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 31. The possibility has been available to every recent MITB winner.

Cody Rhodes emphasized the WrestleMania possibility, so there may be more to this year’s event than meets the eye. If both the men’s and women’s Money in the Bank winner get to cash in for a WrestleMania match, that would likely mean that the Royal Rumble winners would face a different champion. As of right now, there is only one men’s world champion, so the assumption is that Roman Reigns will drop one of his titles before then.

Time will tell if WWE makes the MITB cash-in at WrestleMania a hard stipulation. As it stands, even under the old rules there is no reason a superstar couldn’t cash in on the grandest stage of them all. This year, WWE might push that story harder than usual.
