WWE Hall Of Famer Bret Hart’s contributions to the pro wrestling industry cannot be understated. While not everyone agrees with what he has to say, his vast knowledge is undeniable.

For quite a while now, AEW has teased the arrival of Bret Hart on Dynamite and Rampage. This further strengthened after Bret Hart was revealed to be managing FTR for an upcoming event.

As previously reported, AEW believes that Bret Hart signed contract with WWE. Due to this, the company also believes Hart will not be able to work with AEW.

According to Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it was said that Bret Hart has actually signed a merchandise deal with WWE and nothing more. AEW had been working under the belief that Hart wasn’t legally available for them.

Bret Hart said that his only deal with WWE is a merchandising deal and not any other deal. AEW was under the impression he could not appear for them due to his deal with WWE. We don’t have it clear whether Hart could legally appear on an AEW broadcast or not, past AEW believed he was not legally available to them.

It would make sense for him to be in Las Vegas for the Owen Hart tournament finals, but as we noted, as of last week it didn’t appear that was going to be the case. Dr. Martha Hart obviously can and will be at that show.

Bret Hart will be managing FTR during an indie event as well. We’ll have to see whether Bret Hart will be in AEW or not.
