Drew Gulak is on the SmackDown brand as a wrestler, but he has other skills. Now Gulak might get a spot on the announce team, that is all depending on the success of this week’s audition.

“Here is a man who is auditioning to be a member of the SmackDown announce team,” Michael Cole said before introducing Drew Gulak this week on SmackDown. This was followed by a backstage segment with Madcap Moss.

The interview segment seemed to be a straight-up interview with Moss to hype his ongoing feud with Happy Corbin and his upcoming match that night. We’ll have to see if this is part of a storyline, but it seems that WWE might be auditioning talent for new roles at this point. Later on, he had a segment with Charlotte Flair where he interviewed The Queen in the middle of the ring. That ended with Gulak taking a beating from Flair where he also submitted to a Figure 8.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
