AEW has a roster full of talent and a couple of them are on the shelf thanks to an injury. Fenix took a bad fall and injured his arm, but he is set to make return very soon as his brother’s character took a very dark turn on television.

Rey Fenix suffered a horrible-looking injury during a match on AEW Dynamite back in January. During a tag team title defense against Jurassic Express, Fenix went through a table and his arm seemingly broke in half. Fortunately, the injury was not nearly as catastrophic as it looked at the time.

Penta Oscuro has been working as a singles competitor recently. Penta took on CM Punk on this week’s episode of Dynamite. Fans have been waiting to see the Lucha Bros back in action, as they were one of the hottest tag teams in a stacked division at the time Fenix was injured.

Rey Fenix is expected to be back with AEW shortly. Dave Meltzer discussed his recovery on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio. Fenix is expected to be back on AEW television within weeks.

“They have a deal with Triple A as far as the belts and the belts going back to Triple A. By the way, Fenix did an interview today and said he would be back for TripleMania which is April 30. So, we should be seeing Pentagon and Fenix back as a tag team in AEW within a couple weeks now.

So, yeah, it’s going to be Fenix and Vikingo because Penta is doing a singles match on the show for his mask. Not for his mask, in the mask tournament. So it’s Fenix and Vikingo against The Young Bucks in the main event for the Monterrey version of TripleMania.”

It has been a couple of months since we’ve seen Fenix in action. The Lucha Bros are set to reunite within the next couple of weeks. An already loaded AEW tag team division will further be solidified by his return.
