Jim Cornette might have been critical of The Young Bucks have been in the past, but his opinions on the tag team has changed a lot recently. On the last week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, The Bucks wrestled FTR; the match seems to have left a great impression on Cornette.

During the latest episode of The Jim Cornette Experience podcast, Jim gave a lot of praise to The Buck’s recent match with FTR. He seemed pretty impressed about it.

Cornette said, “This is the first time in almost 50 years that I’ve been able to watch a wrestling match purely as a fan because I didn’t know what was going to happen in the finish and I really hate the heels and was pulling for the babyfaces. That has not happened in a long time for me. So I was able to sit down and enjoy this and I’m going to shock the world here Brian Last. Maybe you too, your delicate ears.”

Cornette additionally said that this was one of the best tag team matches in AEW history.

“You said it was one of the best tag team matches in AEW history,” Cornette continued. “Can you think of a better one? Who has FTR had a match with that was better than this? I guarantee you, this was the best Young Bucks match I’ve ever seen by a long margin, a wide margin. Again, they still did some of the Young Bucks sh*t but it made sense in where it was placed and didn’t take you out of the whole thing. And the rest of it, it was a wrestling match.”

Later in the podcast, Cornette mentioned FTR has been underutilized in AEW but believes it could all be part of Tony Khan’s grand plan. He also applauded FTR’s recent work with The Briscoes as. But most importantly, The Bucks received a compliment for being in the right place at the right time during particular spots in their match.
