Elias’ character died and he went away for a long time. The time finally came for him to make a return, but nobody expected this repackaging.

In the middle of Kevin Owens promo where he talked about going into WrestleMania 38 injured, he was interrupted by new music. “Ezekiel” showed on the screen, and a cleanly shaven Elias came out.

Kevin Owens called him out for being Elias right from the jump. Then “Ezekiel” said that he is not Elias, because he is Elias’ younger brother. They had a little back and forth from there where Owens did not believe this new character was a different person at all.

Owens then gave him 10 seconds to get out of the ring. Then he counted down to 1, but Ezekiel didn’t move, so Owens left instead. This was quite an interesting situation, and even more interesting that they are calling out the character change in this way.
