The second big night of WrestleMania 38 is just a few hours away. Ahead of the big WWE event, AJ Styles, who is set to fight Edge, was present at the company’s WrestleMania Media Day for a little chat.
Styles spoke with Mike Johnson of PW Insider about fan expectations for his big match. He also talked about the future he sees ahead of himself and several other things.
Styles pointed out it will be impossible to please everybody as the expectations for the bout are certainly high. While speaking about difficulty living up to those expectations, he clarified that being able to convey the story within that match is also very important.
Well, this is for me, the expectations, when they’re so high and people expect so much, it’s hard to reach those expectations. So I think it’s very hard, very hard, but we’re not going to go out there and try to please everybody. We’re going to go out there and tell the match, the story within that match that needs to be told. And hopefully, people will find it as entertaining as we do
Styles was then asked about where does he sees himself in the next few years, to which he replied that he wants to stay healthy and compete in the ring as long as The Undertaker.
That is a tough question because I’m not sure how I envision it. I just hope that I’m able to stay healthy and excited enough to finish strong. I just want to keep going as hard as I can until I decide it’s time to hang them up. The Undertaker was able to decide it’s time to hang them up. I want to make the decision. I hope that’s what I’m able to do in my career.
Styles, without a doubt, admires ‘Taker and wants to be able to rest his career after having a similar long satisfactory run. AJ Styles vs. Edge is set to take place for the first time tonight at WrestleMania 38 Night Two.
