Many consider Triple H a legend in the pro wrestling world and is one of the most important figures in the company’s history. He was an integral part of the Attitude Era. His career spanned several World Title reigns and memorable moments throughout the years.

WWE and AEW’s Wednesday Night War lasted for 76 weeks. For the most part, AEW Dynamite defeated NXT in ratings barring a couple of shows. WWE was not happy with this either.

WWE COO Triple H was blamed for NXT losing the Wednesday Night Wars. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Triple H’s chances of being groomed to succeed Vince McMahon reduced after NXT’s failure to beat AEW Dynamite.

”As far as the successor to Vince McMahon, the reality is that WWE still hasn’t really groomed anyone else. But Levesque’s NXT failed in its major directive, both not killing off AEW at the start, but also in drawing a bigger and a younger audience.’

In the event that WWE is not succeeded by Triple H, perhaps Nick Khan might just take over once Vince McMahon decides to call it quits.
