Cody Rhodes Says He Was Lucky To Carry The Baton For A While In AEW

Cody Rhodes helped AEW significantly, both inside the squared circle and backstage as well. It is not a stretch to say he helped build AEW into what it is right now over the past three years. It seems Cody Rhodes is grateful to the fans for all their support as well.

Cody Rhodes and his wife Brandi departed from AEW last month and even now, fans and pro wrestlers alike continue to discuss their departure and what they will do next.

A fan recently took to Twitter and wondered where Cody Rhodes will go next after his AEW exit. The fan also stated that Cody Rhodes was the face of AEW. Rhodes saw the fan’s tweet and replied to it, as he stated that fans were the real face of AEW and that he was simply lucky to carry the baton for a while.

I’ll let you in on a little secret, wrestling fans are the face of it all – I was lucky to carry the baton for several years, and I am incredibly proud of the changes we made for the industry and livelihood of wrestlers the world over. A great time, stuff for the history books

We will have to wait and see whether Cody Rhodes will end up in WWE or not as all signs point towards him debuting in the company at WrestleMania 38 or right after that.
