AEW Dynamite featured TNT Title match this week, and Sammy Guevara retained, He was also injured.
The current TNT Champion successfully defended his title against Darby Allin. However it seems the champion didn’t exactly leave the ring unscathed.
The 27-year-old took to social media to reveal he suffered a scratched cornea from the main event of the 2/16 episode of AEW Dynamite.
Finally able to open my eyes I suffered a scratched cornea on Wednesday.
All respect to Darby, We came into this company with everything to prove & in 3 years we have shown that we not only belong but we are this place.
Every time I’m on your TV I’ll give you a show, I promise.
The two really put on an excellent match last Wednesday. Also, to note, Sammy did take a little assistance from Andrade El Idolo in his match. It also seems that Sammy has enormous respect for Darby.
Sammy was crowned Undisputed TNT Champion by slamming the TNT title into Cody’s head in a ladder match. It appears as though this was Cody Rhodes last match in the company. Guevara now is set to defend his belt against Andrade in the 2/25 episode of AEW Rampage
