Natalya has arrived in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia along with a large traveling contingent of WWE superstars. Vince McMahon’s promotion will hold the Elimination Chamber premium live event in the controversial nation. Nattie says she is proud of how far Saudi Arabia has come since WWE first arrived.

There are three women’s matches scheduled for the Elimination Chamber event. Six competitors will face off in a high-stakes Elimination Chamber matchup. Becky Lynch will defend the Raw Women’s Championship against the legendary Lita. Finally, SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair teams with Sonya Deville against Ronda Rousey and Naomi.

Natalya made a post on her Instagram reflecting on the progress she sees. The Canadian superstar says WWE will be making history. Nattie thinks it’s a huge step for women in sports.

“This picture was from my first trip to Saudi Arabia. It reminds me of how far we’ve come in the very best way. I’m so incredibly proud of the progress and doors we are opening here, that have never been opened before. This Saturday in Jeddah, @wwe will feature three women’s matches for the first time in history. I’m proud to be a part of this huge step for women in sports.”

WWE’s relationship with the Saudi Arabian government has been heavily criticized. Company representatives refused to even mention it by name during their quarterly earnings calls. The superstars of WWE have defended the partnership. Natalya believes they are making huge strides for female athletes.
