Update: Carmelo Hayes has clarified that he’s not frustrated, but he is anxious to get back into the ring.

Original: Carmelo Hayes unified the NXT Cruiserweight and North American titles by defeating Roderick Strong at New Year’s Evil. Since then, Carmelo has been involved in a program with Cameron Grimes. Hayes has not had a television match since winning the title.

The championship match with Strong received a great reaction and Carmelo is a favorite of Shawn Michaels. It looked like Hayes was getting set up for a big push. Since then, he hasn’t been booked for a title defense.

The anticipation for his match with Grimes is starting to eat away at the North American Champion. While he has regularly appeared on NXT 2.0, Carmelo is missing the in-ring competition. Hayes vented his frustration on Twitter.

“I’m so ready to get back in the ring. It’s been over a month since I’ve had a match on tv. I’m hungry”

On the most recent episode of NXT 2.0, Hayes and Trick Williams talked trash about Grimes at the barber shop. Melo said he will make Cameron relevant for just one night. NXT fans have been looking forward to the two finally locking horns.

Carmelo Hayes’ title defense has been a long time in the making. Hayes is waiting patiently for the matchup. Carmelo has some pent up frustration, and he’ll be looking to take it out on Cameron Grimes soon enough.
