NJPW star Tama Tonga is a member of the original Bullet Club in the promotion. He has been vocal about his dislike for the Bullet Club reunion on AEW and Impact Wrestling. It turns out that the offer to join AEW wasn’t on the table.

When OG members Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa attacked Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks in July 2018, Bullet Club was split in half. Cody, who was at the moment battling with Omega, sided with Omega and was also laid out in the onslaught.

While Omega, the Bucks, and Cody would leave NJPW to join AEW, Jay White would take over as the new leader of Bullet Club. The feud between the Bullet Club and the Elite has played out on social media and on television throughout the years.

Tama Tonga was questioned on the All Real Wrestling Podcast if he ever had an offer to join AEW and if he has any animosity toward The Elite.

Not me, I didn’t get any offer, but I think some other guys have gotten it, but not me. I’m happy where I’m at. I don’t have any ill will or animosity towards what they did. I always respect the hustle and the work that is put in. I have a lot of respect for them and what they did and are still doing. That’s always. When they were in Bullet Club doing their thing, sometimes, with anything, people like to do it one way and you like to do it another way and sometimes you clash but you overcome and move forward. That’s anybody. A lot of people confuse what I do on social media as real. My antics and shit talking, that’s what I love about social media, you’re displaying a character. As a fan, you’re like, ‘is he being character or is he being real?’ I think some of my antics have people thinking I have some ill will towards somebody. There’s never that. Never that. I always wish the best for everybody.

Tama has fired several shots at The Elite on social media, with Kenny Omega retaliating. Bullet Club and The Elite teamed up in February 2021, with KENTA teaming up with Kenny Omega on AEW Dynamite. The entire podcast is provided below.
