Camelo Hayes has made quite a splash in his brief reign as NXT North American Champion. He’s one of the most popular wrestlers on the colorful WWE brand. Since his debut in June, he’s won the Breakout tournament and won the NA title.
AJ Styles made a couple cameos on NXT 2.0 as part of a feud with Grayson Waller, and the two wrestled a bout on this week’s episode, with the main roster star defeating the young prospect.
Carmelo Hayes has had a lot of success in NXT, as he is the final WWE Cruiserweight Champion. It comes after unifying the championship with his North American Championship by defeating Roderick Strong at NXT New Year’s Evil.
On this week’s broadcast, Hayes had an altercation with Styles, leading to anticipation about a future showdown between the two. Styles has since said that he is done with NXT for the time being. Hayes on the other hand called out Kofi Kingston on Twitter about coming to NXT.
Kofi should come to @WWENXT real quick tho.
“Bruh… just bring yo a** to Smackdown!” Kingston said after the show to Hayes. After all, it is rumble season! Hayes says simply acknowledged the fact that it’s not a bad idea after all. The confident Hayes has his heights set even higher.
