It’s Tuesday night and that means a brand new episode of WWE NXT for January 11th, and Ringside News has you covered with live play-by-play results coverage. Start time for NXT is at 8:00 PM EST. Match-by-match highlights and results from the show will take place on this very page. Feel free to leave any reactions in the comment section below.

Tonight’s NXT is set to be a stacked show, headlined by AJ Styles Vs. Grayson Waller, a feud that has bled over onto RAW. That isn’t the whole heated match tonight though, as Pete Dunne faces Tony D’Angelo in a first-ever Crowbar-On-A-Pole match, and Xyon Quinn faces Santos Escobar for custody of Elektra Lopez or something to that effect.

Elsewhere, Boa faces Solo Sikoa, Joe Gacy and Harland look to establish themselves as a proper tag team ahead of the Dusty Cup, and Wendy Choo teams with Indi Hartwell and Persia Pirotta to take on Kayden Carter, Kacy Catanzaro and Amari Miller. We’ll also get an appearance by the new NXT Champion, Bron Breakker.

NXT 2.0

This week’s show opens with a look back at Bron Breakker winning the NXT Championship from Tommaso Ciampa at last week’s New Year’s Evil.

We go live to the CWC and Bron Breakker makes his way to the ring. Half the crowd chants “you deserve it” and the other half chants “no he doesn’t”. Breakker thanks Ciampa and says he’s a Hell of an athlete and an outstanding person. He says Ciampa congratulated him after the match, then went out and paid respects to his father at ringside. Breakker says to anyone that wants to challenge him, he’ll always be one step ahead and putting all the work in because he is the NXT Champion.

Santos Escobar W/Legado Del Fantamas Vs. Xyon Quinn

Quinn takes control early on and we see Elektra Lopez watching from the nearby platform. Quinn hits snake eyes and throws Santos across the ring with a biel before posing.

*Commercial Break*

Back live and Escobar has Quinn down by literally just holding his leg and Quinn is writhing, then Escobar drops to a kneebar. Santos hits a chop-block and talks trash to Quinn before punching him. Santos hangs him up in the ropes and dropkicks the leg, then backs him into the corner and chops the chest. Santos runs at him but Quinn drops him with a body block.

Quinn tackles Escobar in the corner, then throws him across the ringa gain. Quinn hits a militar press as Mendoza gets on the ropes to distract him. Escobar uses the distraction to throw him over the ropes, then goes out and lifts him up but Elektra Lopez stands in his way. Quinn escapes the hold and attacks Escobar, then puts him back in the ring.

The referees are busy checking on Escobar and Quinn turns to Elektra and she rubs his chest. Quinn and Lopez nod at each other, then he turns to the ring but she kicks him in the gonads from behind. Mendoza puts Quinn back in the ring and Escobar hits the Pahntom Driver for the win!

Winner: Santos Escobar

Tony D’Angelo cuts a promo backstage in which he says he tried to let Pete Dunne off easy with a little broken arm but he had to come after him. He wanted a trophy, Dunne’s mouth-guard, but Dunne took it personally. So tonight he treats Dunne like a dog and shows him who the boss is.

*Commercial Break*

Mandy Rose is doing a pool-side photoshoot. She says she arrived to New Year’s Evil in style and left with her title. She makes the title hot because NXT 2.0 is all about Mandy. Keep watching, keep staring.

Cameron Grimes Vs. Damon Kemp

Grimes and Kemp struggle for control and exchange holds. Malcolm Bivens is watching from the ramp as Grimes escapes a headscissors. Grimes kicks the chest but gets caught with a belly-to-belly. Grimes lands a few running forearms and a dropkick in the corner, then a flying crossbody. Grimes gets the crowd up and hits the Cave-In for the win.

Winner: Cameron Grimes

Joe Gacy and Harland are backstage. Gacy thanks the officials for allowing him and Harland to compete in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic and they’ll use the platform to demonstrate that size, skills and experience do not matter.

*Commercial Break*

Joe Gacy & Harland Vs. Edris Enofe & Malik Blade

Gacy starts against Enofe and they lock-up. Enofe shoots Gacy off but gets dropped with a shoulder, then caught with a forearm and a big urinage. Enofe tries to prevent Gacy from making the tag and lands a knee before tagging Blade. Gacy gets caught with an arm-drag, then Enofe tags back in and they work together to hits a neckbreaker for a two-count.

Gacy makes the tag and Enofe leaps to tag Balde. Harland grabs a sleeper but releases, then squishes Blade’s face against the buckles. Harland punches Enofe and throws him into the ring post. Blade’s face is smashed into the buckles repeatedly and the referee calls for the bell.

Winners Via Disqualification: Edris Enofe & Malik Blade

Harland backs the refere into the corner after the bell but Gacy comes in and stops him from attacking. Enofe and Blade have qualified for hte Dusty Cup over Gacy and Harland.

Crowbar-On-a-Pole Match

Pete Dunne Vs. Tony D’Angelo

Dunne runs across the ring but gets immediately dropped with a right hook. Tony wastes time taunting and Dunne takes him down via the wrist. Pete goes for the crowbar but Tony pulls him off the ropes. Dunne stomps the hands and goes back to to the ropes but this time D’Angelo grabs him and hits an exploder suplex. Tony goes for the crowbar but Dunne climbs up the ropes beside him and stomps him repeatedly. Dunne is knocked to the apron where Tony lifts him up and over for a falcon arrow.

*Commercial Break*

We’re back live and there’s a bunch of weapons at ringside but apparently the referee prevented their use because only the crowbar is legal. Dunne slams Tony, then stomps on his elbow. Dunne heads for the crowbar but D’Angelo throws him, then retrieves the weapon. Tony swings the crowbar but Dunne avoids it, then snatches it from him.

D’Angelo moves to the apron and Dunne swings but he jumps to the floor, then drags Dunne out and back suplexes him on the apron. Tony gets the crowbar and presses Dunne onto the announce desk with it. He looks to hit his hand again but Dunne avoids it, then hits an enziguiri. Dunne drops knees on Tony’s elbow, then gets him in the ring and brings the crowbar.

Dunne applies a chicken wing with the crowbar in Tony’s mouth. D’Angelo backs him up to the corner, then hits a neckbreaker with the crowbar across Dunne’s throat. Tony stomps Dunne’s injured hand and looks for another neckbreaker but Dunne knocks him back to the corner and kicks him several times. Dunne lifts the crowbar and swings but Tony grabs him for a German suplex and Pete lands on his feet.

Dunne hits a drop-toe-hold and applies a crossface using the crowbar. Tony goes outside and brings a chair into the ring but Dunne jumps on the chair and hurts Tony’s hand. Dunne applies a triangle choke and twists the fingers of Tony. D’Angelo gets to the ropes, then both men start slugging blows. D’Angelo tackles Dunne into the corner where he lands on the chair, then sends him head-first into the pole above the corner, and cracks him over the head with the crowbar and wins!

Winner: Tony D’Angelo

Grayson Waller is interviewed backstage. He says he’s blowing up, being on RAW and all over social media. After he beats AJ Styles he might go to SmackDown and slap Roman Reigns around. He has dreams of WrestleMania but tonight he will make another Grayson Waller moment.

*Commercial Break*

Wendy Choo, Indi Hartwell & Persia Pirotta Vs. Kayden Carter, Kacy Catanzaro & Amari Miller

Miller starts with Indi and quickly knocks her out of the ring with a dropkick, then overshoots a suicide dive and almost spikes herself. Kayden Carter and Catanzaro then leap over the ropes onto Persia Pirotta and Indi. We see Brooks and Jensen watching on a monitor backstage because apparently they want dates with Kacy and Kayden. Carter dropkicks Persia off the apron to prevent the tag, then she and Indi run into each other.

Indi tags Wendy and Amari comes in the other side. Choo lands a series of kicks despite being in pyjamas, then lands a belly-to-belly and a handpsring clothesline. Catanzaro comes in but Pirotta powerbombs her, then Indi Kayden kicks her, Hartwell drops her, and Amarti sends Hartwell out of the ring. All women are down until Persia comes in and slams Amari, then tags Indi for an elbow drop off the top and the win.

Winners: Wendy Choo, Indi Hartwell & Persia Pirotta

We see MSK backstage and they stuble across the Dusty Cup. They dance and sing around the cup and make fun of all the teams in the tournament. Dakoa Kai appears and says she won that as well, then says nothing defines friendship more than success. MSK tell her to leave and take her evil with her.

*Commercial Break*

Kay Lee Ray is backstage with her baseball bat looking for Mandy Rose. She says Mandy can show-up for photoshoots but not defend the title. Ray destroys the set and tells them to take a photo of that.

Boa Vs. Solo Sikoa

Solo backs Boa into the corner and chops him. Boa tries to fight back but Sikoa takes him down and pummels him. Solo lands an uppercut and Boa rolls outside. Sikoa goes out but Boa runs him into the ring post, then back inside. Boa attacks the leg of Solo and stomps his chest. Boa hits an underhook suplex and grabs a headlock.

Solo fights up and blocks a kick, then delivers some knees. Sikoa trips Boa and lands a senton, then clotheslines him over the ropes and they both tumble to the floor. Solo throws Boa into the steel steps but then Boa slams him into the announce desk and runs him into the ring post. The referee counts but both men ignore him and get counted out.

Double Count-Out

Both men continue fighting and make their way through the crowd where Solo lands a chair shot to the back. They pass through a curtain and disappear.

AJ Styles is interviewed backsage and says this is why he loves NXT, the passion is infectious. Styles says tonight Grayson has to step up to the plate and he ends the Waller Effect. AJ says he plans to ride a wave of momentum to the main event of WrestleMania and it starts with Grayson Waller tonight.

Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams arrive at the arena in a sports car. Hayes will adderss the NXT Universse, next.

*Commercial Break*

Solo Sikoa and Boa are in the “warehouse” brawling and sending each other into production boxes, girders, pipes, etc. Boa gets hit with some trash cans and tossed over a box. Solo goes to grab him but a fireball blasts Solo in the face. Officials check on him and when the camera returns to Boa he’s wearing face paint.

Wade Barrett and Vic Joseph reveal that, only one week later, Von Wagner’s suspension has been lifted and his fine has been paid but they don’t know who paid it on his behalf.

The North American Champion, Carmelo Hayes, comes to the ring alongside Trick Williams. Trick tells the crowd to make some noise for the Champ. He says he’s happy for Melo because they go together like peanut butter and jelly. Hayes says he had one of the toughest challenges of his career last week against the great Roderick Strong. Hayes wants to have a moment of silence for Strong’s Cruiserweight Championship reign, then pours one out for him.

Melo says since he took the ball he’s scored nothing but first-downs and touchdowns. He’s got more accomplishments than months in the company. He is the walking cheat code, a history maker in physical form, and the most scintillating Champion in NXT history. You can call the title whatever you want but because it’s around his waist you can just call it the A Championship. That’s all it is and all it’s ever gonna be. AJ Styles makes his entrance, interrupting Carmelo’s celebrations.

*Commercial Break*

Hayes and Trick leave the arena but Cameron Grimes is sitting on his car. Grimes says in 2021 he would have been out there doing dougnuts in that car but it’s 2022, so he’s coming for that title. Grimes tells Hayes he best not miss.

AJ Styles Vs. Grayson Waller

The main event gets underway and AJ is unfazed by Waller’s mind-games. They lock-up and AJ forces him back to the corner before releasing. AJ takes a side headlock but Waller reverses into one of his own. AJ gets free and Waller taunts him, so Styles kicks his leg and chops him in the corner. AJ slams Waller into the buckles, then kicks the leg and hits a backbreaker.

Waller starts to fight back but Styles slams him and he rolls from the ring. AJ goes to the apron but Waller trips him. Waller gets in the ring and hits Styles with a hangman neckbreaker. Grayson fakes a dive over the ropes but slides under them and connects with a clothesline on the floor.

*Commercial Break*

Back live and AJ fights free from a headlock but Grayson catches him with a leg lariat. Waller talks trash and Styles lands some right hands, then a few kicks and a clothesline. Styles hits a flying forearm to Waller and gets pumped up. Styles with a clothesline in the corner, then ushigoroshi for a near-fall. AJ wants the Styles Clash but Waller grabs the ropes and fumbles to the apron where AJ punches him off.

Styles leaps over the ropes with a forearm to Waller, then gets him back inside. AJ wants the Phenomenal Forearm but Waller rolls to the apron. Waller snaps AJ’s neck on the ropes, then drops him and goes to the middle rope for an elbow drop and a near-fall. AJ avoids a splash in the corner and takes Waller down with the calf crusher. Grayson crawls to the bottom rope to force the break. Waller rolls-up AJ for a two, then hits a sit-out powerbomb for a near-fall.

Waller is going for the Styles Clash but AJ flips him off. Styles is sent to the apron where he knocks Waller back. AJ leaps for the Phenomenal Forearm but Waller slides from the ring, then forward rolls through the ropes and hits a Stunner for a near-fall. AJ ducks under a clothesline and hits the Pele kick, then a brainbuster. Styles goes to the apron once more and hits the Phenomenal Forearm for the win.

Winner: AJ Styles

AJ Styles grabs the microphone after the match. He asys he loved giving Waller that ass-kicking. He says Waller is good but he’s not phenomenal. AJ says Waller’s night isn’t over yet and he wants to introduce him to a friend of his. LA Knight’s music hits and he chases Waller into the ring where he lands a sries of clotheslines. Knight sends him out of the ring and tosses Waller over the announce desk. Waller gets back in the ring where Knight clotheslines him over the ropes and Grayson retreats. Styles and Knight hug and pose to end the show.
