The matchup between Hook and Aaron Solo on the most recent episode of Rampage drew the most total viewers during the broadcast. Experts were skeptical about Hook’s drawing power. Dave Meltzer said on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio that the young wrestler appears to command an audience.

“The Hook segment, actually, was the peak for a lot of the demos. It was the peak for total viewers. You know, the three-minute match. So, the first time that he wrestled, and I said, ‘Hey, you know, everyone’s talking about him, but it’s not like it moved any rating. It’s not like it mattered.’

But this time, there’s definitely… The two big ratings stars, when I looked at the quarters, and I also have the minute-by-minute from Dynamite, so on the quarters… The Hook [vs] Aaron Solo did very well.”

Hook made quick work Aaron Solo in their match. A moveset similar to his father, Taz, along with a cold-hearted attitude has made Hook increasingly popular. Even CM Punk couldn’t outsell his t-shirt recently.

Time will tell what kind of staying power Hook has. There is an incredible amount of talent for him to work with in AEW. If Tony Khan plays his cards right, the sky is the limit for Hook.
