Sasha Banks will not be competing in this year’s WWE Royal Rumble. The superstar recently injured her leg while wrestling Charlotte Flair at a recent live event. Banks let fans know that she was doing well. It turns out that she will have to miss some time after all.

WWE announced the news this afternoon on Twitter. The injury occurred at a house show on Sunday night in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Banks will miss over a month of action as she recovers.

“BREAKING: @SashaBanksWWE is expected to be out of action for 6-8 weeks after suffering a foot injury Sunday evening at a WWE Live! event in Fayetteville, NC.”

Sasha Banks underwent an MRI after the injury. It was revealed that Banks has a bruised calcaneus bone. Sasha will recover at home and undergo a regimen of physical therapy in an effort to get back to the ring as soon as possible.

WWE has been dealing with several medical issues. Injuries such as the one suffered by Sasha Banks only increase the company’s uncertainty for upcoming events. COVID-19 recently forced WWE to alter plans for the Day 1 premium live event.

It is fortunate that Sasha Banks only has a bruise. There does not appear to be any need for surgery. Sasha will take her time to heal up. Fans can expect Banks to make her return in just a couple of months.
