Edge & Beth Phoenix Thought Working Together In WWE Would Never Happen

WWE Hall Of Famer Edge is certainly one of the most established Superstars in the company’s history. He has done it all as far as being a pro wrestler is concerned. It seems Edge and Beth Phoenix never thought they would ever work together in the company.

Since Edge returned to WWE back in 2020, he has remained a highlight of WWE television. His battles with Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Randy Orton received a lot of praise as well.

Edge is currently engaged in a feud with The Miz and it also featured his wife Beth Phoenix making her return to WWE television at the WWE Day 1 pay-per-view. The two then escalated their feud with The Miz and Maryse.

While speaking on WWE’s The Bump, Beth Phoenix talked about finally working with her husband. Beth Phoenix revealed that she and Edge never thought they’d be working together in the company.

“Honestly, the only conversation we had about it was: Too bad, it’ll never happen. There were never any circumstances prior to coming back from his neck injury. This was just not in the cards at all. Also, my character was a pretty self-sufficient character and so was Edge. Edge had his moments of sneakiness, working with other female characters as well. They weren’t two characters that would converge.”

Edge and Beth Phoenix are set to square off against The Miz and Maryse in a mixed tag team match at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view. It remains to be seen how the match will turn out to be.
