Tito Santana’s legacy in professional wrestling is solidly in place. He had an incredibly long and successful run in WWE (WWF at the time). Now his daughter, Jenni Santana, sheds some light on the relationship she has with her father, or lack thereof.

Jenni Santana is following in her father’s footsteps, but she stated recently on an episode of Charlie Haas’ podcast, Wrestling’s Greatest Podcast, that she only recently found out about Santana being her biological father and didn’t spend any time with him growing up. Haas is of course a former WWE superstar. He was part of Team Angle alongside Kurt Angle of course and Shelton Benjamin.

It was when Haas asked about her being a second generation wrestler that Santana had this to say about her father and the relationship they now have.

“I actually have not grown up with him. I actually found out he was my father a few years ago. I haven’t had this second generation childhood like everyone else had, so I’m coming at it from a different angle, but it’s exciting seeing the things he’s accomplished which is amazing and a pretty cool thing.

We don’t really have a relationship right now. We talked a few times, but it’s kind of been silent lately, so I’m not really sure how it’s going or where it will go. I actually haven’t had a chance to have a conversation with him since I started wrestling…He did say he wished me well with wrestling. He didn’t have any ill will towards it. I’ve only been training for six months now.”

Santana is a martial artist and is considered a master grappler, as Haas put it in the video of the interview. She is a Jiu-Jitsu black belt and as Haas also states in the interview, she is incredibly educated. So…there may be quite the future for this young woman in the industry. We’re looking forward to see where she takes this.

Tito Santana, for his part, still wrestles occasionally, and at the age of 68. He is also a middle school teacher. As of this writing, he has not publicly commented on his daughter’s career or the prospect of her future in the industry.
