Toni Storm returned last month and since then fans have clamored to see her in the main event title picture. Charlotte Flair previously snubbed her of a title opportunity and she did so once again on a previous episode of Friday Night Smackdown.

Since then the two have been embroiled in a feud that feature them throwing pies at each other, which was not something fans wanted to see at all. Even after her main roster debut, there was a long period of time where Storm wasn’t seen on WWE television whatsoever.

Unfortunately, Toni Storm was recently released by WWE and the belief was that Storm herself requested herself and was granted it. However, it seems there is more to the story than initially thought.

According to Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam.net, it was reported that Toni Storm did not request her release from the company as she simply quit the company after working triple threat match at a house show. She would then fly herself home by paying from her own pocket.

“Turns out, Toni didn’t exactly request her release… she just up and quit. Worked a triple threat at a house show last night and then paid out of her own pocket to fly herself home.

WWE handling it as her asking for her release and then them granting it, because after so many talents were released due to “budget cuts” this year, it’s like “meh.”

It was also said that her release shocked everyone backstage in WWE, with one female Superstar on the main roster being shocked that Storm didn’t give any notice before quitting.

“It’s f****** wild. She’s just gone. Didn’t really tell anyone.”

Toni Storm was unable to defeat Charlotte Flair for the Smackdown Women’s Championship on the Christmas Eve edition of Friday Night Smackdown and it seems that was her last televised match in WWE. We will have to wait and see what is next in store for Storm.
