AEW has a lot of opportunities for the people within the company. There are also a multitude of versatile people backstage who can help out in many different roles. Serena Deeb was a WWE Performance Center coach, but she was released. After finding her way onto the AEW roster, Deeb is now working backstage at Tony Khan’s company as well.

While speaking to Wrestling Inc, Serena Deeb revealed that she started helping out behind the scenes during her injury hiatus. Now she is on the headset next to Tony Khan, talking to the production truck and calling matches backstage.

“In the meantime, when I was kind of sitting on the sidelines I stepped into the coaching role and the producing role. Kind of like the stuff I was doing before at the other company,” she said. “I’m helping them with their matches, I am on headset next to Tony calling their matches, talking to the truck, doing all of that. I love that too and, you know what? That has an exhilarating component in itself. Like, especially when you really help and then you watch them go out there and they kill it. You feel like you’re part of that, it’s very rewarding.”

We’ll have to see what’s next for Serena Deeb on AEW television, but she certainly has a lot to do backstage. It’s great that AEW was able to find a place for her and utilize all of the talents that she has as well.
