Footage from a horrific incident from an independent wrestling show in Texas recently went viral. The clip shows YouTube personality Hannibal in his “Blood Hunter” gimmick brutally spiking the head of a defenseless referee. Fans were shocked, with many demanding that Hannibal never be booked anywhere again.

Referee Lando Deltoro was savagely cut open after Hannibal went into business for himself. The footage shows a massive pool of blood in the ring. Lando has been giving updates on social media. The most recent update on Twitter says he’s experiencing a lot of pain.

“Recovering at home, still a big fuzzy and pain, yes lots of pain. But I’ll live. Thanks you all for out pouring of love and support. I am a firm believer that if you put good out into the world, good will return to you”

After the show, the footage was posted to /r/SquaredCircle on Reddit by wrestler Thorne the Hunter, who also worked the show. The referee from the match where the incident happened (not the one that was injured) posted their recollection of the incident. They said the police were called and that Kevin Sullivan told him to try and “kayfabe the cops.”

“Cops were called, I gave a full statement about what I believed happened. Kevin f*cking Sullivan told me to kayfabe the cops.”

Fans and several wrestlers have called for promoters to stop booking Hannibal immediately. This was an unbelievably dangerous, selfish act that could’ve resulted in death. There’s no place for it in professional wrestling.

Do you think Hannibal will ever get booked again? Let us know in the comments!
