Hook, who is the son of AEW commentator and former ECW and WWE star Taz, has been featured on AEW television as the silent enforcer of Team Taz. Many never believed he would never wrestle. It seems Tony Khan was very careful about Hook’s in-ring debut.

Hook made his in-ring debut on this week’s episode of AEW Rampage, where he squared off against Fuego Del Sol. Hook was certainly very impressive in his in-ring debut, as he made short work of Del Sol.

Hook displayed efficiently and crisp movements, making it clear he learned a lot from his father and took his training seriously. It even resulted in Hook blowing up on social media and his debut racked up larger numbers than even Bron Breakker’s did.

While speaking on Busted Open Radio, AEW President Tony Khan talked about Hook’s in-ring debut. Khan made it clear that he had no intention of rushing Hook’s debut and explained why he held off on the debut.

“It’s really important we haven’t rushed him. There’s been plenty of times where I thought Hook in training and in practice looked fantastic.

He’s got every bit of the skill it would take to wrestle on Dynamite or Rampage but the reason I held off till tonight for Rampage on Long Island, I really felt like to give Hook this chance to debut tonight in front of the big audience, give him a chance to debut in his hometown [was ideal].”

The AEW roster was also ecstatic about Hook’s in-ring debut. It remains to be seen what is next in store for Hook now that he has already impressed many within the company.
