For many fans, MJF is certainly one of the best heels in the pro wrestling world right now and his character has only continued to develop during his time in AEW. He quickly cemented himself as a top star and has been mainstay of AEW television since the debut of AEW Dynamite back in 2019. It seems he made yet another bold claim recently.

The Salt of the Earth takes his heel persona very seriously and never breaks it, no matter where he is. This has led to several fans and pro wrestlers applauding him for his dedication.

While speaking to Peter Schwartz on Schwartz On Sports, MJF talked about why Tony Khan thanks him for the house. MJF claimed that the AEW president thanks him because he is one of the biggest ratings draws in the entire pro wrestling world.

“Tony Khan is appreciative of me and what I’ve been able to do for this business. These are facts. Facts don’t care about your feelings. I am one of the biggest rating draws, on average, per-minute, when I am out there, in the entire business. In the entire business! No matter what promotion you’re talking about. That’s me, and I’ve only been on worldwide television for two years. So no, I’m not thanking Tony Khan, Tony Khan is thanking me because I am the draw of draws.

Quite franking, the reason that is happening is because unlike everyone else in my industry and sport and business, I’m not phony. I’m not playing a part or playing a role. I am Maxwell Jacob Friedman 24/7, 365 and that’s why I fell in love with wrestling because wrestling was real and is real and it is real when you have a guy like me on your TV screen.”

MJF’s mother also recently took a brutal shot at him before AEW Dynamite in his hometown this week. We will have to wait and see how MJF will perform in the Dynamite Diamond Battle Royal on this week’s show.

h/t to Fightful for the quotes.
