CM Punk made his All Elite Wrestling debut a few months ago at AEW Rampage: The First Dance. It certainly changed the pro wrestling world as many people took notice of the company. Tony Schiavone considered it the greatest debut in pro wrestling history.

CM Punk wasted no time in becoming one of the highlights of AEW television and has feuded with the likes of Darby Allin, Eddie Kingston and others. Finally, CM Punk started a long-awaited feud with MJF.

As seen on last week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, CM Punk and MJF engaged in a war of words that saw CM Punk referencing the likes of The Miz and Triple H and others. It received a lot of praise from fans and pro wrestlers alike.

While speaking on the Wooooo Nation podcast, Ric Flair talked about CM Punk and MJF’s promo battle. Flair stated that while he enjoyed the promo a lot, MJF and CM Punk should not have brought up WWE in any way.

“I thought the segment was good. I didn’t really like that part where Punk mentioned The Miz. Regardless, you are right, why even bring up the other company? And I am saying on behalf of both companies and wrestlers that are WWE or AEW, but I am a big fan of MJF. The kid can talk, and more than that, he carries himself like an absolute pro, he dresses. You know, I cannot emphasize enough how important in my estimation, it is to look professional and that kid always look sharp.”

The promo was also blasted for being similar to Monday Night RAW. We will have to wait and see how CM Punk and MJF’s feud will progress as it is certainly one of the highlights of AEW television right now.
