WWE cut another wave of Superstars from the roster tonight and plenty of fans were shocked by the news. Those in the company didn’t see this news coming either.

We previously reported that those in the company were blindside by the recent wave of WWE releases. Budget cuts was used as the excuse for these cuts, something that Top Dolla pointed out in his reaction.

According to Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Pro Wrestling Podcast, those in WWE were under the impression that the company was finished with their releases for 2021. Now they are anticipating that releases like this will become a regular thing.

When I spoke to a very reliable source at WWE last week the belief was that the previous set of releases would be it for 2021 but with anticipation that this would be a regular occurrence moving forward.

WWE makes record profits each quarter, but these budgets cuts are in place and it appears that they are not going away.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
