WWE released another crop of talent today and November 18th is indeed a sad day. Those in the company weren’t expecting this news either.

The company released Hit Row, John Morrison, Drake Maverick, Tegan Nox and more from their deals today. This was not something that many people expected on the Thursday before Survivor Series.

Mat Men Pro Wrestling Podcast’s Andrew Zarian spoke to a source in WWE who said “many within the company were blindsided by this set of releases.” This was obviously something that they weren’t expecting.

Zarian went on to say that his source stated, “unfortunately there are a lot of all star player who will never get a chance to get off the bench.” That is very much the truth, because people like Hit Row and Nox were just getting started on the main roster.

We’re hoping for the best and that everyone lands on their feet. Since this recent crop of WWE cuts were all on the main roster that means they all have a 90-day non-compete clauses.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
