Roddy Piper Was Once Paid In Cocaine For A Match

WWE Hall Of Famer ‘Rowdy’ Roddy Piper was a true legend in the world of professional wrestling and one of the mainstays of WWE in the 80s and early 90s. He had a larger-than-life character and there is a good reason for it. It seems Ric Flair made a huge claim about Piper recently.

Ric Flair is also certainly a veteran in pro wrestling and has faced off against the best of the best in the business. This includes the likes of Roddy Piper.

While speaking on his Wooooo Nation Uncensored podcast, Ric Flair recalled a match that he had in 1982 in the Dominican Republic. In the match, he faced local hero Jack Veneno for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship.

The trip was full of problems for Flair and Flair took Roddy Piper with him when he went back to the Dominican Republic. Flair then claimed that Piper was paid in cocaine.

“They gave me $5000 and they gave Piper cocaine and $500 bucks. He was happy.”

Ric Flair certainly has a lot of interesting pro wrestling stories thanks to his long and illustrious career. It is likely he will have more interesting tales to tell in the next episode of his podcast.
