WWE has filed trademarks for four new in-ring character names. A search of the USPTO Trademark database reveals the names, to be used to cover professional wrestling performances in various media. The applicant is listed as World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. on each of the filings.

The new trademarks show an application date of November 11. The character names will ostensibly be used for new wrestlers coming into NXT. They include Dallas Irvin, Derek Sanders, Adrian Butler, and Daphanie Lashaunn.

No specific designs or artwork appear with any of the applications. The marks are represented by a simple typeface. This is standard practice for most name mark registrations. Each listing contains a description of the uses of the trademark. Dallas Irvin is shown below for reference.

“DALLAS IRVIN™ trademark registration is intended to cover the categories of entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment.”

WWE has filed for several other trademarks in the last week. That means fans should prepare for an influx of new names in NXT 2.0, and maybe even some on the main roster. Don’t blink, though. These new faces may go as fast as they’ve come.

NXT 2.0 airs tonight at 8PM on USA. Raquel Gonzalez vs Dakota Kai is slated for the broadcast as well as a poker showdown between Duke Hudson and Cameron Grimes and Dexter Lumis vs Tony D’Angelo. There’s also a six-man tag scheduled between the Diamond Mine and Kushida, Ikeman Jiro, and Odyssey Jones.
