Adam Pearce has been acting quite strange as of late. It was on the last two episodes of Raw that he seemed rather intent on making the lives of the Mysterios quite terrible. To that end, he succeeded, having removed both of them from the Raw Survivor Series team. Now it seems as though this behavior is in fact going somewhere.

It was on November 12th that WWE filed a trademark, this one seeming to refer to the term: ‘Scrap Metal.’ It was specifically all of the following terms that were listed in the filing: ‘SCRAPP METTAL’, ‘SCRAPP METTAL’, ‘SCRAPP METEL’, ‘SCRAPP METAL’, and ‘SCRAPP METAL’.

The registered term seems to perhaps be linked to the aforementioned Adam Pearce, as he has used the ‘Scrap Daddy’ and ‘Scrap Iron’ names in the past. What follows was attached to each of the filings:

“trademark registration is intended to cover the categories of entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment.”

Pearce has had quite the career. It started in 1996 and he passed through WWE in the late nineties. He was additionally quite the treasure on the independent circuit – particularly in the NWA – despite how he may seem to fans now. His beat down at the hands of Brock Lesnar did nothing to help his reputation, but look back through the annals of pro wrestling history and the pages of said history will tell a far different story.

It will be very interesting to see a heel, or rather a heel faction running Raw once again…perhaps giving the faces something to really fight for. The same seems to be working for the Naomi/Sonya Deville tension on SmackDown. Adam Pearce better be careful though, as Brock Lesnar is a free agent and if he has a bone to pick with the WWE official about that $1 million fine, he certainly knows where to find him.
