Jay Lethal is a true veteran in the world of professional wrestling after competing for over twenty years now. He established himself as one of the stars of the X-Division in TNA and then became one of the top talents in ROH as well. It seems he revealed how he came to AEW.

With Ring of Honor releasing all of their talents in order to undergo a complete overhaul,  ay Lethal became a free agent. It didn’t take him long to find a new home as Lethal made his debut at AEW Full Gear.

While speaking during the post-AEW Full Gear media scrum, Jay Lethal discussed how his deal with AEW came about. Lethal revealed that the whole deal happened just a few days prior to AEW Full Gear.

“It all happened so quickly, only a few days ago. My head was spinning because — Today was the first time we met and talked face to face. Imagine being, for lack of a better term, jobless and wondering how you’re going to pay your bills and such. You’re a professional wrestler so there’s not a ton of jobs. You can’t just fill out an application anywhere. I got a quick message from some of Tony’s associates, which was like a beacon of light. But literally, that was only a few days ago. Then I flew in yesterday and had to sit in my hotel room and I couldn’t get any sleep because all I could think about was, ‘Well, I don’t really know what’s happening tomorrow because we haven’t met yet. It was wild. All these thoughts going through my mind, ‘Will the people like me? The company’s on fire right now, I hope I make a good impression.’ Just a wild rush of emotions in my head.”

Jay Lethal also said that AEW instantly felt like home to him. Lethal is also set to challenge Sammy Guevara for the TNT Championship next week on AEW Dynamite. We will have to wait and see how Lethal will perform in his AEW in-ring debut.
