During one portion in the match, CM Punk did John Cena’s signature shoulder tackles, spinout powerbomb and he gestured to do the five knuckle shuffle. Naturally, fans in attendance lost their minds seeing that happen but Punk didn’t finish it in the end.

Fans took to Twitter and expressed their excitement and shock at CM Punk using his old rival John Cena’s moveset.

Nobody; CM Punk doing the 5 knuckle shuffle fake out: #AEWFullGear

cm punk five knuckle shuffle lmao

CM Punk should’ve hit the 5 Knuckle Shuffle on Eddie Kingston

i dont care who does it, if I see a proto-bomb I immediately assume whoever it is needs to pop-up and tease a 5-knuckle shuffle. Thank you @JohnCena for conditioning me to pop and thank you @CMPunk for making me pop

I legit fucking thought CM Punk was gonna break out the Cena 5 Knuckle Shuffle

CM Punk went on to defeat Eddie Kingston in the very physical match up. It remains to be seen what is next in store for CM Punk now that he is still undefeated in AEW.

Punk didn’t complete the 5 Knuckle Shuffle, but you know it was very tempting.
