Bryan Danielson was in a very interesting position when he left WWE. Although he did end up going to AEW, he wasn’t certain of his decision for a while. After all, his father-in-law was responsible for getting him to sign a new deal.

While speaking to Ariel Helwani on the MMA Hour, Bryan Danielson was asked about the recent WWE releases. He explained that he gets them in some ways, but in other ways he doesn’t feel like it is right to let so many people go.

“In some ways I get it, in some ways I feel like it’s not right. It’s hard because my father-in-law is the head of talent relations there, he’s the one that has to call them all. One of the things that I’ve always had a hard time with, and I’ve been fired from WWE twice so I kind of get this, it’s one thing if somebody does something bad. But for example, if you’re under contract with WWE and you’re not happy or you’re not happy with the company or whatever. If they can fire you and give you 90 days, you should be able to give 90 days to be released from your contract. But on the flip side, if they’re only firing you because of budget cuts, when they’re more profitable than ever, I just don’t think that’s right.”

Budget cuts was given as the official reason for the releases yet again. We’ll have to see who they cut next, because we are pretty much guaranteed that another batch of cuts is going to happen again eventually.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
