Keith Lee Shoots Down Rumor That Bearcat Gimmick Was His Idea

Keith Lee was absent from WWE television for quite a few months. Due to this many fans started to worry about Keith Lee’s status in the company. Lee eventually returned and he previously said that he Vince McMahon’s approach to his character. Now it seems Lee commented on his Bearcat gimmick.

Since his return to the company, Keith Lee has competed in a few matches on Monday Night RAW, especially against former NXT Champion Karrion Kross. However, he has also competed in several dark matches on Monday Night RAW and Friday Night Smackdown as well.

Many fans certainly didn’t like the numerous changes Keith Lee had to go through after his return. This included changes to his entrance, look and also his name. This included Lee being changed to Bearcat Lee, a name most fans simply want nothing to do with.

Unfortunately, Keith Lee was among several WWE Superstars released from their contracts recently. Lee replied to a fan on his Instagram post, where the fan said that the Bearcat gimmick was his idea. Keith Lee made it clear that it was not his idea at all.

“No. It was not. Lol.”

Jim Cornette also previously stated that Keith Lee could be making his way to AEW after the way he is being treated in WWE. Now that he is released from WWE, we wonder if Lee will make his way to AEW or not in the future.
