Tonight’s SmackDown will once again air live on Fox Sports One due to Fox’s coverage of the World Series. WWE has not advertised any specific matches or segments as of writing this but they have promoted the show as the continuation of a new era as brought on by the WWE Draft.

it should be interesting to see how things play out on tonight’s show.

SmackDown

SmackDown kicks off with SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair making her way to the ring. Charlotte says as more things change, the more they stay the same, with her as SmackDown Women’s Champion. Charlotte says she isn’t keeping count of her title reigns, but the fan are because they can’t do what she can do. Charlotte calls herself the most decorated women in WWE history. Charlotte says when she ins a title, it’s just another Friday. Charlotte says order has finally been restored to SmackDown.

Sasha Banks comes out to the ring to interrupt Charlotte. Banks laughs at the idea of Charlotte considering herself a leader. Banks asks when her title match is. Charlotte says it’s selfish of Banks to demand another title match after Charlotte has beaten her time after time. Charlotte says she talked to Sonya Deville and they agreed a new face deserves a chance at the title.

Shotzi rolls out in her signature tank to interrupt the two. Shotzi drives down to the ring and says if Charlotte is looking for someone she has never faced before, than she’s her girl. Charlotte says that Shotzi will get her match and a championship contender’s match between Charlotte and Shotzi is announce for after the commercial break.

Charlotte Flair vs Shotzi

Our opening match begins with a lock up. Charlotte hits a waist lock take down. Charlotte avoids Shotzi and hits another take down and covers for two. Charlotte throws Shotzi to the corner but Shotzi hits a big boot and a sunset flip for a cover for two. Charlotte hits a kick to Shotzi on the mat and throws Shotzi to the corner. Shotzi rolls out of a suplex attempt and hits a huricanrana off the ropes. Shotzi hits a series of strikes to the corner and goes to the top rope but Charlotte grabs and slams Shotzi down by her leg. Shotzi gets a surprise inside cradle for a two count. Charlotte gets up and hits a lariat to get her momentum back. Shotzi hits an enziguri and follows it with a running splash into the ropes, Shotzi covers for a two count. Shotzi goes to the top rope but Charlotte rolls to the outside. Shotzi runs to dive over the ropes but Charlotte tuns up to stop Shotzi with a right hand. Charlotte taunts Sasha Banks on the outside and Shotzi takes advantage of the distraction and hits a dive to Charlotte on the outside.

The match returns with Charlotte going for a top rope moonsault but Shotzi runs up to counter with a huricanrana, Shotzi covers immediately for a two count. Shotzi avoids the big boot and hits a spinning right hand. Charlotte hits a big boot on the apron to send Shotzi to the floor. Shotzi avoids a diving Charlotte and hits a super kick. Shotzi throws Charlotte back in the ring for a cover and a two count. Charlotte dodges an enziguri and goes foe the figure eight but Shotzi gets an inside cradle for two. Charlotte hits a back elbow and then a back breaker. Charlotte goes up top, goes for a moonsault, Shotzi rolls away but Charlotte lands on her feet and hits a standing moonsault. Shotzi almost runs into Banks on the apron and off the hesitation Charlotte hits natural selection for the cover and the three count.

Winner: Charlotte Flair

after the bell banks goes in the ring to comfort Shotzi and Shotzi shoves Banks and assaults her with a series of right hands on the mat. Shotzi stomps Banks repeatedly in the corner. Shotzi hits the shining wizard on Banks and hits a running kick to send Banks to the floor. Shotzi follows and slams Banks onto the tank and then the barricade. Shotzi again throws Banks to the tank and back in the ring. Shotzi goes up top to hit a senton.

Kayla Braxton interviews Jeff Hardy backstage. Hardy says he’s looking forward to having a fresh start on SmackDown. Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss confront Hardy. Moss tells Harday a trademark awful joke and Corbin and Moss leave laughing hysterically.

Back live with Adam Pearce to address Brock Lesnar’s actions from last week in a recorded video. Paul Heyman watches on a TV backstage. Pearce says he is issuing a fine of $1 million to Lesnar. Kayla Braxton interviews Heyman backstage and Heyman is asked how Lesnar will respond. Heyman says Lesnar would show up to the corporate office and destroy everyone. Heyman continues to rant about Lesnar’s ferocity but manages to stop himself and say that’s how he thinks Lesnar responds and tells Braxton to leave him alone.

Drew McIntyre comes out and it is announced there will be another open challenge up next.

Back live with McIntyre issuing an open challenge. Mustafa Ali makes his way out, and accepts.

Mustafa Ali vs Drew McIntye

The match begins with McIntyre throwing Ali to the corner. Ali avoids a charging McIntyre but McIntyre slams Ali to the mat. McIntyre hits a belly to belly throw. Ali goes to the top rope and McIntyre rolls out of the way of the 450 splash. McIntyre locks in the kimura lock and Ali immediately taps out.

Winner: Drew McIntyre

After the match Ali grabs a mic and says that the people chose to root against him, and that the only reason for that is because his name is Mustafa Ali.

The New Day are walking backstage when they encounter Hit Row. Woods talks to Hit Row like a king and congratulates them on their victory last week. Hit Row bows to their king, Kingston asks Hit Row to perform their music for their king. Hit Row begins to sing together and appear to be following Woods and Kingston to the ring for the knighting ceremony of Kofi Kingston.

Back live with Kingston and Woods in the ring. Kingston introduces King Woods. Woods addresses the crowd as their king and Kingston leads a Hail King Woods chant. Woods tells Kingston that he would like to bestow the highest of honors on him. Woods holds the scepter over Kingston and knights him, proclaiming Sir Kofi Kingston. The crowd begins to chant Sir Kofi as Woods places a golden unicorn medallion on Kofi’s vest.

The ceremony is interrupted by The Usos. The Usos enter the ring to say that a lot has changed on SmackDown, they refer to it as the Bloodline Show and hold up the tag team championships. Kingston calls The Usos jealous and Woods says he can’t have the bloodline on his newly cleaned royal carpet. Woods says because of their disgusting insolence, it will be The Usos vs New Day tonight, an The Usos accept the challenge.

Shinsuke Nakamura and Rick Boogs make their way out to the ring for the upcoming Trick or Street Fight with Corbin and Moss.

Shinsuke Nakamura & Rick Boogs vs Happy Corbin & Madcap Moss

The match begins with a brawl with all four wrestlers. Nakamura hits a kick to Moss’ back. Boogs hits the pump handle slam into a pumpkin. Boogs plays his guitar and Corbin hits a kendo stick to the back of Boogs. Reggie flips into the ring as various wrestlers run to chase him around the ring and back to backstage. Moss tries to slam Boogs to a tub full of apples, Boogs reverses and forces Boogs to bob for apples in this Halloween themed match.

*Commercial break*

the match returns with Moss and Corbin hitting Boogs with kendo sticks. Corbin takes a bowl of candy and Nakamura kicks it out of his hand sending the candy to the crowd. Moss runs in to hit Nakamura with a lariat. Corbin tosses a pumpkin away to the largest boo from the crowd tonight. Moss and Corbin try to power bomb Nakamura but Boogs makes the save via assault with pumpkins and a skeleton decoration. Nakamura hits Boogs and Corbin with a kendo stick. Moss hits a fall away slam to Nakamura and Boogs tosses Moss away like a small child. Nakamura is distracted by Moss placing a pumpkin over his head to blind him. Two mysterious people dressed in pumpkin costumes hit Boogs with kendo sticks, Moss makes a cover for three.

Winners: Happy Corbin & Madcap Moss

The pumpkin-dressed culprits unmask after the match to reveal themselves as Humberto and Angel Garza.

Naomi vs Shayna Baszler

Before the bell there is no ref in the ring, Sonya Deville comes out and says she forgot to mention that the referee that was supposed to work this match was injured last week. Deville says that she is a suitable replacement and she will be the referee and Deville puts on a referee shirt and calls for the bell.

The match officially begins with a lock up. Naomi escapes a quick leg submission and hits a huricanrana. Naomi hits a bulldog into the corner and hits a kick to the head. Naomi goes for a cover but Deville does not count, Deville reverses into a cover of her own and Deville makes the fast three count.

Winner: Shayna Baszler

After the match Naomi confronts Deville and Baszler locks in the kirafuda clutch to take out Naomi as Deville leaves the ring.

The New Day vs The Usos

The match starts with Woods and Jey in the ring. Jey gets hit with a right hand after Woods dodges Jey’s strike attempts. Kingston is tagged in and Jimmy makes the blind tag to assault Kingston from behind. Kingston springboards off the second rope to hit a drop kick. Kingston goes to the top rope and goes for a dive outside but is caught by The Usos and thrown to the timekeeper’s area.

*Commercial break*

Back live with The Usos hitting a back breaker and then top rope dive combo. Jey hits the running corner splash to Kingston. Kingston hits a running kick and Woods and Jimmy are tagged in. Woods hits a side Russian leg sweep and follows with a drop kick and covers for a two count. Jimmy hits a strong right hand and Woods counters by driving his knees into Jimmy’s chest. Jimmy hits the enziguri and Jey tags in to hit a neck breaker and covers for two. Woods hits a right hand and a forearm to Jey. Jimmy and Kingston are tagged in and Jimmy hits a Samoan drop. Jey is tagged back in and they hit a double super kick and Jey covers for two. Jimmy is tagged in and Woods prevents the double frog splash. Woods tags in as Jimmy hits Kingston with a super kick, Woods gets a roll up and the three count.

Winners: The New Day

The New Day celebrate their victory in the ring as SmackDown goes off the air.
