WWE set up for the Draft this year in a very strange way and they remedied that with a title swap. Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair were supposed to simply exchange belts on SmackDown, but that didn’t go according to plan.

A backstage tiff between the two did not get physical, but there was confrontation. Then Flair disrespected Vince McMahon by walking off without speaking to The Chairman.

According to Fightful Select, the original plan for the switch would have included Lynch grabbing the title from Flair. She was set to brag about being Becky Two Belts, but The Queen didn’t want that to happen.

The original script actually called for Becky Lynch to grab the title away from Charlotte Flair and brag about being “Becky Two Belts” before Sonya Deville would order her to hand her title to Charlotte. We’re told Charlotte Flair didn’t agree this was the best course of action, but was told to stay the course. However, we’ve heard that most everyone had already been in agreement the segment was going to be an awkward. After Charlotte dropped the title on the ground, Lynch ended up throwing hers at Charlotte, which we’re told was planned for the segment.

We will keep a close eye on this situation. Charlotte Flair really wanted to lose her RAW Women’s Title to Bianca Belair before she left the red brand. That didn’t happen, and she wanted to look strong going out. That title switch idea wasn’t a big winner for a lot of fans either. Obviously, Flair felt a certain way about it as well.
